Guru Deshpande is one of the popular directors in Kannada cinema who made his debut with 2013 film Raja Huli, which featured KGF fame Yash in the lead role. Then, Guru directed a few other films like Rudhra Tandava, Samhaara and Padde Huli. Now, he has turned into a producer and started his home banner G Cinemas. His maiden production venture, Gentleman, is all set to hit the screens today.

 
Starring Prajwal Devaraj and Nishvika Naidu in the lead roles, this film got directed by Jadesh Kumar. Speaking about this movie, Guru Deshpande said that initially, he wanted to make a film called Thackerey with Prajwal. But due to certain issues, that project didn't work out. Then, Guru decided to work with Prajwal for another film. That is the time when Guru realized that his close associate Jadesh is working on a script and immediately, they narrated it to Prajwal. As Thackeray got delayed, Guru has decided to turn as a producer and made Gentleman as his first film.
 
Gentleman deals with an interesting story of a young man who has a sleeping beauty syndrome which means he sleeps 18 hours a day. How he deals his life with this syndrome forms the story. Guru is hoping that this will be his first success as a producer at the box office.
