International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is one of the prestigious film festivals across the Asian territory. Started in 1952 by Jawaharlal Nehru, IFFI has become a platform for Indians to see the best in class filmmaking across the globe. This year, it marks the golden jubilee edition of IFFI and thus, the government of India has decided to make it a bigger event.
India's most beautiful state, Goa is hosting the festival every year since 2004. Even this time, it is gearing up for the golden jubilee festivities of the festival.
The 50th edition of IFFI is kickstarting today and it will continue for a week. The carnival will get concluded on November 28. Over 200 films are getting ready for their screenings at the festival and thousands of delegates are eagerly waiting to catch them on the big screen.
This time, IFFI decided to pay a tribute to the iconic actor of Indian cinema and the recent Dadasaheb Phalke award recipient Amitabh Bachchan by screening some of his best films. IFFI will also felicitate Superstar Rajinikanth with a special award titled, 'Icon of Golden Jubilee of IFFI.' Renowned French actress Isabelle Huppert will get the Life Time Achievement Award.
