Lisa Banes, 65, passed away early this morning. The actress known for playing the role of Marybeth Elliot in Gone Girl was hit by a scooter nine days ago. The unfortunate incident took place on the Upper West Side of New York's Manhattan when the actress was on her way to Juilliard School.

 
The news was confirmed by Lisa's rep who was quoted as saying, "We are heartsick over Lisa's tragic and senseless passing. She was a woman of great spirit, kindness and generosity and dedicated to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera and even more so to her wife, family and friends. We were blessed to have had her in our lives."
 
Apart from her role in Gone Girl, Lisa also played the role of Bonnie in the 1988 film Cocktail. A source had confirmed that Lisa suffered major brain injuries due to which she wasn't able to respond well. For the past nine days the actress was fighting death but ultimately succumbed to her injuries today.
