Game of Thrones fans all over the world have stuck up to the gadgets wherever they are as the watch of 595 days has finally ended. HBO aired the first episode of season 8, the last one of the TV series on Monday. All the social media handles literally broke down with the spoilers and guess what GOT is now trending top. Though the episode disappointed with a jerky beginning yeah fans got what all they need. (Spoilers ahead!)
Starting from the opening theme which has its own fan base, has taken the viewers into deep dive into the world which was only shown from above. Seems like the makers thought of giving the fans a sumptuous treat right from the beginning.
Starks reunion and Sam revealing Jon’s identity stood as the ultimate impelling factors in the episode. However, the most anticipated reunions like Arya-Jon and Brothers of the Night Watch Samwell-Jon were taken in a rush which would have been shown with more warmth. Samwell confesses the secret revealed in the last season, unveiling the true identity of Jon Snow of being a Targaryen rather than Ned Stark’s bastard. Despite being the top-secret built over the course of seven seasons with tenderness and great weight, the scene was narrated in a simple way without any hype.
“Your mother was Lyanna Stark. Your father...your real father was Rhaegar Targaryen. You've never been a bastard; you're Aegon Targaryen, the true heir to the Iron Throne,” these line from Samwell’s end stole the show which caused the social media meltdown minutes after being aired. And the question followed referring to Daenerys “You gave your crown to save the people. Would she do the same?” has taken the audience to bring up new theories around the queen in further episodes.
Will Daenerys turn against Jon when she gets to know the truth behind her new love’s identity? Well, let’s wait and see.
