Government of Andhra Pradesh says NO to Vakeel Saab premiere shows
The stakes are really high on Pawan Kalyan’s comeback film Vakeel Saab which is up for release on 9th April. The makers had recently requested the government of Andhra Pradesh to permit early premiere shows starting as early as 12 AM.
However, the government of Andhra Pradesh has rejected permissions for Vakeel Saab’s premiere shows in the wake of rise in Covid cases across the state. This would mean that there will be no midnight shows for the Pawan Kalyan starrer.
The state government is yet to take the final call on the special shows, which usually start at 4:30 AM - 5 AM. The distributors and exhibitors are hoping that the government would permit special shows as it would greatly boost their chances of recovering a big chunk of the investment in the first weekend itself.
If the government of Andhra Pradesh does permit special shows, then Vakeel Saab will have 6 shows per day instead of the regulatory 4 shows.
Dil Raju who is bankrolling Vakeel Saab is giving the film the widest possible release and it is said that the social drama might be releasing in record number of theaters in the twin Telugu states. The film is releasing in over 700 screens in the overseas circuit which is the biggest release for any film post Covid.
Given the scale of release, Vakeel Saab is likely to post exceedingly good figures on its opening day.
