The 63rd year of the famous award show witnessed four separate female artists win the top four prizes

Taylor Swift became the first female artist to win the Album of the Year award three times. The singer released the award-winning album ‘Folklore’ in lockdown. Before this, Swift’s other two albums to win album of the year include ‘Fearless’ in 2010 and ‘1989’ in 2016. Swift also marks the fourth artists to win the album of the year three times, the other three to do so were: Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, and Frank Sinatra.

Beyonce with her 28th win this season set a new record and overtook Alison Krauss. Before this night, Beyoncé owned 24 wins and by the end of the 63rd Grammys. The artist picked up four more prizes. One of them, a big win- best R&B performance for “ Black Parade.” She also won best music video for “ Brown Skin Girl” and best rap performance and best rap song for “ Savage,” alongside Megan Thee Stallion. While receiving the award, she said, "As an artist, I believe it's my job to reflect the times, and it's been such a difficult time. So I wanted to uplift, encourage, celebrate all of the beautiful black queens and kings that continue to inspire me and inspire the world.”
Billie Eilish who made news in the last year’s Grammys by winning all major awards, won Record of the Year this time for Everything I Wanted. H.E.R won Song of the Year for I Can't Breathe. However, Megan Thee Stallion stood out with three Grammys for Best New Artist, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for Savage. She is also the first female rapper to win the best rap song.
