India's entry for the 95th Academy Awards' Best International Feature Film category is the Gujarati film Chhello Show. Directed by Pan Nalin, Chhello Show stars Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Shrimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Raval and Paresh Mehta. Young Samay's quest to realise his 35mm ambition is depicted in the Gujarati film. Robert DeNiro's Tribeca Film Festival hosted the global premiere of the film Chhello Show, which has since gone on to win other prizes at other international film festivals.
The Kashmir Files and RRR were the two movies that were rumoured to be India's submissions for the category, with RRR doing best outside. With the worldwide media, other filmmakers, and fans taking notice of the filmmaker's extraordinarily innovative storytelling, the SS Rajamouli epic has gained a broader audience since it was made available on Netflix.
In an effort to increase the likelihood that RRR would win an Oscar, SS Rajamouli has even spoken at some screenings in the US.
