The 65th edition of Filmfare Awards held last night amidst the attendance of several stalwarts. The event git hosted by Karan Johar, Vicky Kaushal, and Varun Dhawan. Stars like Akshay Kumar, Karthik Aryan, Ranveer Singh, and Ayushmann Khurrana gave scintillating performances on the stage.
Coming to the Awards, Gully Boy swept most of the major categories. Films like Article 15 and URI also got quite a few awards. Best Film Award went to Gully Boy while the Best Director prize went to Zoya Akhtar. Article 15 and Sonchariya jointly won the Critics' Choice Best Film Award.
Ranveer Singh won Best Actor while Ayushmann Khurrana won Best Actor Critics' Choice for Article 15. Best Actress Award went to Alia while Taapsee and Bhumi Padnekar shared the Critics' Choice Award for Saand Ki Aankh. Best Music Album Award got shared by Gully Boy and Kabir Singh.
Arjit Singh bagged Best Singer (Male) for Kalank title song in Kalank. Shilpa Rao won Best Singer (Female) for Ghungroo in War. Adithya Dhar won Best Debut Director Award for URI. Abhimanyu Dassani won Best Debut Actor for Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and Ananya Pandey won Best Debut Actress for Student of the Year/Pati Patni Aur Woh. Best Screenplay and Best Dialogues awards also went for Gully Boy.
