Among the many films postponed this month due to Corona Virus, Prabhu Solomon's Haathi Mere Saathi starring Rana Daggubati is also one of them. Eros International announced the postponement through twitter. It was set to release on April 2 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The producers released a statement saying they decided this thinking in the light of everyone's well being. They said, In light of recent developments of COVID19 Coronavirus, our recent announcement regarding the scheduled release of Haathi Mere Saathi, Aranya(Telugu title) and Kaadan (Tamil title) stands changed,".
They further added, "In solidarity with our partners, exhibitors, distributors, and audiences, we pray for health and happiness of all and as we are monitoring the situation, we do hope that we come back with a new release date soon. Sincerely, the entire cast and crew that worked tirelessly to bring this story to you,"
Films along with shooting, award shows, and other public events stay canceled. Recently, actor Shahid Kapoor also took to Twitter to do the same for his film, Jersey. He wrote, "At a time like this it is our social responsibility to do everything in our capacity to curb the spread of this virus. Team #Jersey is suspending shoot so as to enable all unit members to be with their families and in the safety of their homes. Be responsible. Stay safe."
Production houses like that of Yash Raj Films also took the same action towards Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar by Dibakar Banerjee. In the midst of this Angrezi Medium by Homi Adajania went ahead with its release. It stars Irrfan Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Radhika Madan, and Deepak Dobriyal. It also received positive reviews. An 8.3 on IMDb. There is no word on any other information with regard to Haathi Mere Saathi. Fans eagerly wait.
