Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Raazi quickly rose to fame when it first came out for its strong acting line up and fantastic storyline. The film received praise from both critics and fans for its refined narrative and characters. Raazi itself is directly adapted from Harinder Sikka's book, Calling Sehmat.
The author recently spoke of his discontent with one of the film's scenes. He said, "In the book, the story ends with Sehmat saluting the Tricolour. If the film had the same ending, the film would have won the National Award. I told the director that you have stopped the film from getting the National Award by cutting the Tricolour scene in the film. Though this had done by the wishes of the filmmakers, I still have resentment over it."
Raazi stars Alia Bhatt
in the role of Sehmat and Vicky Kaushal
in the role of her husband. Sikka spoke of his love for his first debut novel. Calling Sehmat sold over 5 lakh copies around the world and became a big hit. The writer is currently working on a book titled 'Article 370' which aims at understanding the Kashmir situation better.
