Vineeth Sreenivasan has gifted some good movies and songs to Malayalees. Vineet's reference to his friend and director Basil Joseph has caused laughter among fans. In an interview with Behind the Woods, Vineet opened up about Basil. Vineeth was responding to a question from the presenter about the unforgettable experience he had at the cinema location.
Basil's Dance is an unforgettable experience on the location. Aren't we the ones who celebrate other people's birthdays the most? But Basil is not like that. Basil is a person who celebrates his own birthday a lot. He was the one who applauded the most and danced when he brought the cake for his birthday at the location;” Vineeth said.
Vineeth added comments on the unique personality of Basil Joseph. “He will cut the cake himself and eat it first. After that, I sang a song. He was a terrific dancer. Basil is a self-celebrant. He doesn’t need anyone. If we put him in a room with some mirrors, he will be happy to sit looking at his self through the day;” Vineeth added.
Basil made his film debut in college, directing several short films. Basil entered the Malayalam film world as a co-director in Vineeth Sreenivasan's Thira. He later starred in the film Homely Meals. In 2015, he directed the film Kunjiramayanam. The film stars Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Aju Varghese in the lead roles.
Goda, released in May 2017, is Basil's second film. He has currently finished the shooting of his third film Minnal Murali. The film starring Tovino Thomas will be the first superhero movie in Malayalam. Apart from Malayalam, the film will release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
