Some of them are receiving critical and popular acclaim as well. Many films are getting ready to release during this Independence Day weekend. One of them is the Tamil thriller Lockup. Vaibhav plays the lead role in it. Actress Poorna aka Shamna Kasim is playing the other pivotal role in it. Her role got named Malliga in the movie. The makers have unveiled her brand new poster from the film the other day. Lockup is all set to premiere on August 14. Lockup is a cop drama that revolves around two police officers. One of the cops got played by Vaibhav. Popular director Venkat Prabhu played the other police officer role in it. How these two officers lock horns for a case forms the main crux of the movie. Vani Bhojan and Eeshwari Rao have played the other important roles in the movie. Earlier, the makers have planned to release the film in theaters. However, the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown have ruined all the plans. Thus, they have opted for a direct digital release. SG Charles has directed the project. Nithin Sathya has bankrolled it. Trident Arts have co-produced the movie. Arrol Corelli has composed the music of it.
