Here’s why no one is permitted to get close to Rajnikanth on Annaatthe sets

“Every actor and crew member has to go through thorough sanitation before entering the sets. We are encouraged to practise social distancing as well. No one else but the director Siva sir is allowed to go into close proximity with Rajinikanth sir. This decision is taken in the view of Covid outbreak and also Rajni sir’s prevailing medical condition,” a unit member said.

Even the director Siva will be masked up while speaking with Rajni and he will stand at least 3-4 feet away from the veteran actor. There is only one solitary staff member for Rajni and he will do the make-up as well, says the crew member.

Reportedly, each and every crew member has to put on a PPE kit before entering the sets. This includes the principle cinematographer as well.

Only the artists who are shooting a scene with Rajnikanth are allowed to stand close to him. They are advised to put on double face masks soon after the shot is okayed. The scenes rehearsals are restricted to the bare minimal.

“The cast and crew of Annatthe are taking care of Rajnikanth like a baby,” concludes the crew member.

Annaatthe is slated for worldwide theatrical release this Diwali season. The film also stars Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh.
