Kollywood star Vijay's recent outing 'Whistle'('Bigil' in Tamil) was supposed to get released on Amazon Prime on December 13th, but it seems like the Hyderabad Civil Court has issued an interim injunction order banning the digital release of the film. The film was in the controversy even before the release of the movie but somehow all hurdles got cleared then. Now, the film unit is unhappy with the latest development.
A Hyderabad-based filmmaker Nandi Chinni Kumar filed a complaint against 'Bigil' director Atlee by making copyright allegations. He stated that the movie is a life story of football player Akhilesh Paul and he took the exclusive biography copyrights in 2018. Nandi Chinni also claimed that he has already taken the issue to the notice of Telangana Cinema Writers Association in September. Now, the High Court has restrained Amazon Prime from uploading and streaming Whistle.
The fans who are waiting to catch the film again and the audiences who missed it in theatres have to wait for some more days to see the movie.
Now, the filmmakers have to approach the court and give the necessary explanation to lift the restraining order. Let's see what the filmmakers are going to do now.
