Director Mani Ratnam and his team have been shooting for a period film, Ponniyin Selvan, for the past year. The current schedule is progressing at a brisk pace in Madhya Pradesh. In this schedule, Mani Ratnam and the team are shooting in temples and forts across the state. Recently, a photo of Trisha from the film sets found its way to the internet. In the photo, Trisha can be seen decked up in gold attire and walking inside the temple with her slippers. Reportedly, she walked between Shivalingam and Nandi wearing her slippers. After the photo went viral, a few Hindu organizations have taken offense to what Trisha did.
Certain Hindu organizations condemned Trisha's act and demanded the arrest of the Yennai Arindhaal actress. For the past few days, controversy seems to be following the Ponniyin Selvan team. In a schedule in Hyderabad, a horse died on the spot. People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India filed a complaint with the Hyderabad District Collector and Telangana State Animal Welfare Board asking them to conduct an inquiry. Based on the complaint, the Abdullapurmet police registered an FIR against the management of Madras Talkies and the owner of the horse. Ponniyin Selvan will release in two parts.
