Hrithik Roshan is one of the brightest stars in Bollywood. Hrithik comes from a film family. Hrithik is the son of director and producer Rakesh Roshan. The star's first film was Kaho Na Pyaar Hai written and directed by Rakesh Roshan. Hrithik became a superstar in Bollywood after his debut film became a blockbuster hit. Hrithik is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood today. Behind Hrithik's achievements in his career is his father Rakesh Roshan who turns 73 today. The films like Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish, which were Hrithik's career breaks, were all directed by Rakesh. The father wanted his son to win where he had failed as an actor. He once said everything he did for that.

He once said that Hrithik has done things in his life that he could never do. Rakesh Roshan also said that he is happy that Hrithik has had some ups and downs in his career. "He (Hrithik) has worked really hard. I failed as an actor. But like any parent, I wanted my son to achieve the dreams I had. Hrithik has done things in my life that I couldn't do. He is a superstar and is adored by many people around the world.'

'But he is my son and I am a proud father. He's had a lot of ups and downs in his career, which I think should always happen because that's how he learns from his mistakes.' He said in an interview to DNA in 2017. In the same interview, Rakesh said that after completing college, Hrithik was not allowed to travel by car and was made to travel by taxi, car or bus. He added that Hrithik was only an assistant director on the sets of his film.

After graduating from college, he had the opportunity to study special effects abroad. But he decided to stay here and started working with me as an assistant director in Karan Arjun. But I did not allow him to eat with us. He was not allowed to travel in my car. Instead, he left with other co-directors in taxis, autos or buses. We used to eat at the same table at home, but on the set, he wasn't my son, he was just another assistant. He had to share a room there with three others and eat with them. I thought he would learn things that way,' he said.
