One of the notable Onam releases was Vinayan's directorial film, Pathonpatham Noottandu. Vinayan said that there is false propaganda going on in social media about the film Pathonpatham Noottandu, which was received with applause by the people in the theatres. According to Vinayan, it was spread through a social media page in the name of the filmmakers, and the producers were informed that it was a fake account. Vinayan has also added a screenshot of the post on the said page saying that his film Pathonpatham Noottandu is a failure.
Vinayan's social media post reads: "Anyway, there must be a person in front of this criminal mind who is trying to kill a good movie. I am telling him that this kind of stupidity is called fatherlessness. You deserve that name. If you can't defeat me directly, then how can you be like this? But you are wrong. Beyond the false propaganda of the audience, the film has already gained word-of-mouth publicity."
