'I Feel Lucky To Debut With Ganpath In Bollywood', Says Actor Rahman
Actor Rahman's film lineup appears to be very exciting and promising. He now stands in a very interesting phase of his very long and legendary career with a handful of big projects.
Rahman now has at least five Kollywood films in production, but he is also ready to make his Bollywood debut. In the new film, Ganpath from Queen director Vikas Bahl will play one of the important roles.
Rahman in a recent interview talked more about his debut Bollywood movie Ganapath. “It’s an interesting project, which also has Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon, and Gauhar Khan. While Kriti is paired opposite Tiger, Gauhar plays my pair. Amitabh Bachchan sir is playing my father; it is a guest role but an effective one. We shot in London, Mumbai, and Ladakh. I feel lucky and fortunate to have this as my Bollywood debut.”
Rahman is also a part of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan and he is anticipating the big release of the movie. He co-stars with eminent actors like Vikram, Aiswarya Rai, Karthi, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi. “ It is one of the biggest films to come from the Tamil industry. The length of your role in it doesn’t matter; what matters is that you are part of Ponniyin Selvan. Because I don’t think anybody will remake this movie in the next 30-40 years at least. Also, this will be a visual reference for people who can’t read the book. This film is much bigger than Bahubali purely because of the number of characters it has. Ponniyin Selvan is not about one person; every character has a backstory and Mani sir has beautifully translated it on screen. I think he has done justice to the novel, and I’m so glad to be part of it,” he opened up to a media house in a recent interview.
