Actress Rakul Preet Singh is busy promoting her coming movie Dev, she is playing female lead besides Karthi in this Tamil action adventure thriller which is also releasing in Telugu on Valentine’s Day February 14th, movie is written and directed by debut director Rajath Ravishankar.
In a recent media interaction, Rakul expressed her views about Valentine’s day. Rakul said that Valentine's Day is western culture and she doesn't believe in it or endorse it. When asked about her plans for this Valentine’s Day, Rakul said, "My family is coming to Hyderabad and I'm going to watch my movie 'DEV' on the release day. This is for the first time, I will be watching my movie with my family on the release day and I’m excited about it.
Further, Rakul made some interesting comments about Valentine’s day. She said “Why only one day we are celebrating love? And why not the whole year, will the single day be enough to celebrate love and exchange gifts. What about the rest of the 364 days?"
She also said that February 14th has been commercialized by people and so much money is being spent on shopping and buying gifts, treats just to show or prove your love and feelings towards the loved person. I’m not against it but I don’t believe in that culture.
If we see from the beginning of her career, Rakul has always maintained a low profile when it comes to relationship matters mostly she stayed away from a link up related controversies but she always maintained her warm bond with her co-stars. But this is really a surprise from Rakul Preet Singh to have such opinion on Valentine's Day.
It is said that Dev plot is inspired from the life of former Indian cricket captain and star all-rounder Kapil Dev.
