Actor Mohanlal pays tribute to late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar. Mohanlal had co-starred with Puneeth Rajkumar in the film Maithri.
Mohanlal said that he is in shock after hearing the news of Puneet Rajkumar's demise. Mohanlal added that he had known Puneeth Rajkumar for many years. “Puneeth Rajkumar is someone I have known for many years. I have known him since a young age. I have a close relationship with Puneeth Rajkumar and his family. Unable to respond quickly as it is news that cannot be contained. He is one of the best actors. They have a family that most people love. I have acted with him in the movie Maithri. I have nothing to say about his acting. This is shocking news;” Mohanlal said.
Puneeth suffered a heart attack while exercising in the gym this morning. He was rushed to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru but doctors confirmed the death at noon. Puneeth was 46 years old.
Puneeth's manager Satheesh released the news of his death. His brother and film star Shivaraj Kumar and film star Yash were with Puneeth at the time of his death.
Puneeth made his acting debut in the movie Appu. After the success of the film, the actor was popularly known in the film world as Appu.
Puneeth Rajkumar is the son of Rajkumar, a unique actor in the Kannada film world. Puneeth has won the State Award for Best Actor twice and the National Award for Best Child Actor in 1985.
