Actor Sai Pallavi says there is no difference between a massacre of Kashmiri Pandits and a massacre in the name of a cow.
In an interview with a Telugu channel, Sai Pallavi clarified her stance. This was in relation to the promotion of her new film Virataparvam. Sai Pallavi was responding to a question from the presenter on Sai Pallavi’s political stance.
“I don’t know which of them is right, ideologically left or right; I grew up not in a family that was politically leaning towards any movement. The film Kashmir Files shows the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits. I do not see any difference between the two in the same India where some Muslims were killed in the name of cows. I was taught to be human. The oppressed must be protected. I do not know who is right and who is wrong. If you are a good human being, don't you think only one part is right;” says Sai Pallavi.
Following the release of Sai Pallavi's comment, the hate campaign against her has been strong on social media. This is from pro - Sangh Parivar accounts.
Sai Pallavi will play the role of 'Vennella' in 'Virataparvam' starring Rana Daggubatti. Sai Pallavi plays a Naxalite who falls in love with a policeman. Venu Udugula directs the film Virataparvam.
The film also stars Priyamani, Zarina Wahab, Ishwari Rao, Sai Chand, Niveda, Nandita Das, and Naveen Chandra in other important roles. The film is set to release on June 17.
