I will proceed legally as well to protect my fundamental rights: Ram Gopal Varma about the case filed on his film Murder

Recently, Ram Gopal Varma announced his new film Murder. Varma hinted that this movie got inspired by the famous Pranay-Amrutha case that happened a couple of years ago. Pranay's father Balaswamy got upset with this announcement and went on to file a case on Varma. He said that it is not correct to make a film when the case is still pending at the court. Reacting to this complaint, Varma stated that his film got inspired by true incidents and not the truth. He added that he will proceed legally as well to protect his fundamental rights. Varma took on Twitter to explain his statement on the issue. He tweeted, "With regard to media speculations on the case filed on my film MURDER, I once again want to reiterate that my film is based and inspired by a true incident and it is not the truth. Also, there’s no mention of anyone’s caste in the film. With regard to the case filed on the basis of uninformed speculations, our advocates will give an appropriate reply as required by law." "I specifically mentioned that I have no intention to demean or degrade anyone and my film is just a creative work based on a subject which is in the public domain. But as a citizen who respects the law, I too will proceed legally to protect my fundamental rights," he added.
