Rana Daggubati is currently awaiting the release of his next film Aranya. This trilingual film was actually supposed to hit the screens on April 2nd. But it got postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, Rana revealed that he worked very hard for his role in this film. In fact, he also added that he worked harder for this film than Baahubali.
The Ghazi actor said that he had to carry the elephant's trunk during the shooting, which normally weighs about 150-160 kgs. Rana also said that Aranya remains a special film in his career as a lot of hard work went into it. The film is under making for the last three years. After many delays, it was all set to hit the screens on April 2. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has ruined all the plans. The new release date will get announced once the lockdown gets lifted.
Directed by Prabhu Solomon, Aranya features Vishnu Vishal (Tamil, Telugu), Pulkit Samrat (Hindi), Shriya Pilgaonkar and Zoya Hussain in the other lead roles. It got titled Kaadan in Tamil and Haathi Mere Saathi in Hindi. It is being produced by Eros Entertainments.
On the flip side, Rana is also acting in another film called Virata Parvam. Directed by Venu Udugula, this film features Sai Pallavi as the female lead. It is a love story set in the backdrop of Naxalism. Zarina Wahab, Priyamani and Nandita Das are essaying the other important roles in the movie.
