Director Priyadarshan responds to allegations made by producer Feroz Nadiyawala. The allegations were in connection with the Bollywood film Hera Pheri. The Hindi film Hera Pheri was a remake of the Malayalam film Ramji Rao Speaking. The film has Akshay Kumar, Parvez Rawal, and Sunil Shetty in the lead role.
Priyadarshan said at an event last month that there was no need to prepare the second part of the film, Phir Hera Pheri. He also said that he did not want the third part of the film. Producer Feroz Nadiyawala responded to this.
Nadiyawala had alleged that Priyadarshan had dropped the filming of the first half halfway through. He added that Priyadarshan tried to dissuade the actors from acting in the second part. Priyadarshan responded to the allegation. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Priyadarshan said he was not against anyone and did not know why he was talking about what happened 20 years ago.
“I’ve nothing against anyone. The so-called incident happened 20 years back. Why are you talking about it now? And why should I say that I didn’t do this, or do that? I did that movie and went on to do many more films. I’m sitting on the 95th film of my career. If I had such behavior, I wouldn’t have been in the industry.”
Priyadarshan added that he has not said anything about anyone. He confirmed that he said that he does not want to do the third part of the film. Addin to that, he said that the original movie was a super hit and that is why it was remade in Hindi.
