Asif says that Rajeev Ravi sent him a surprise message to offer the role in the film. “I starred in Virus. About a month and a half after that, Rajivettan sent me a very surprising message. ‘I am Rajiv Ravi, give me a call when you are free,’ he said. When I was free, I called him and he said, ‘I have a script. Sibi will call and tell the story. Please listen to it. If you are okay, we can do it;” said Asif Ali.

Asif added that he was afraid to do the character of a police officer. “I was still afraid of becoming a cop. The confusion over which way to prepare was terrible.
