Prithviraj says he is not a superstar if the stars are decided by the number of managers and personal staff. Prithviraj said this in an interview with Film Companion.
Prithviraj said that he always wants to be alone without crowds and that there were only two people on his personal staff. The actor was responding to a question from Anupama Chopra on his new film Kuruthi.
Anupama Chopra asked why he is making such a serious film with Manu Warrier, who is only making his second film. In reply, Prithviraj said that when he read the synopsis of the film, he felt that the film should be done anyway. Prithviraj himself produced the film kuruthi.
The actor said that he found it easier to act in the films he produces because he is in control of ensuring the quality of the film.
Prithviraj added his view toward taking films that deal with sensitive subjects like Kuruthi.
“As long as there isn’t propaganda I’m okay with it. As long as the film is objective I'm okay with it. And I believe Kuruthi is one of the most objectives takes on a subject like this that I’ve read in the recent past. It doesn’t say one is right and the other is wrong. It just shows you a group of people. It shows their rights and their wrongs. And the film asks you questions. It poses a question against you. It speaks of something that is much bigger than the film;” he added.
Kuruthi is the new Malayalam movie directed by Manu Warrier. The film stars Prithviraj in the lead role. Roshan Mathew also plays a lead role in the new film. Kuruthi is the first solo film produced by Prithviraj Productions.
