In its every edition, the International Film Festival of Indian aka IFFI pays homages to the filmmakers who passed away in that particular year, by screening their films. This year, IFFI is paying homage to two of the greatest French filmmakers, Bernardo Bertolucci and Agnes Varda. Apart from their films, a few of the Indian classics of different languages are also getting screened under this section.
The films gearing up for the screening under this section are Agnes Varda Film: Varda By Agnes, Aparoopa: Jahnu Barua, Ek Anek Aur Ekta, Ganashatru, Hum, Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, Kanooru Heggadithi, Krish Trish and Balti Boy: Face Your Fears, Phool Aur Khaante, Rajanigandha, The Dreamers, The Tidal Bore, Umraao Jaan and Veyil Marangal.
Agnes Varda is one of the best filmmakers of world cinema who made many acclaimed films. It is good to see IFFI is paying homage to the legendary filmmaker by screening the documentary made on her life. Indian films like Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, Phool Aur Kaante are also grabbing the attention of the festival audience.
The 50th edition of IFFI will start on 20th November and ends on the 28th of November. Over 200 films will get screened in this eight-day movie mela.
