We are already aware that iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award this year. He is the 50th recipient of the award. Incidentally, this year also marks the 50th edition of the International Film Festival of Indian (IFFI). To pay a tribute to the legendary actor, the organizers of IFFI are screening some of Amitabh's best films at the festival, under the category, "Dadasaheb Phalke Award Retrospective."
The films which will get screened under this category are Badla, Black, Deewar, Paa, Piku and Sholay. These films showcase the versatility of Amitabh, the actor. Some of these flicks also brought him a national award for Best Actor. Many of the foreign delegates only know Amitabh as the Indian movie icon but they might have never seen any of his films.
These screenings are the best option for those audiences to catch some of the best works of Amitabh on the big screen. Amitabh himself will be attending the festival's inauguration ceremony this time.
The festival begins on the 20th of November and ends on the 28th of the very same month. Over 200 films made across 76 countries, will get screened under 23 different categories in this year's edition of IFFI.
