In Jordan Peele's upcoming film Candyman gore takes the centre stage.

Jordan Peele has emerged as one of the best horror film directors in the last few years. With films like Get out and Us under his directorial belt, Peele is once again ready to thrill audiences alike. Jordan Peele's next film titled Candyman. It is a reboot of the 1992 film by the same name.

Candyman dropped its first trailer on 27 February which has left fans thrilled for the film. The trailer begins with a few girls reciting the word, Candyman five times in front of the mirror. Just like the urban myth that the film bases on doing so summons the monster in the reflection. While the trailer does not show candyman just yet it had presumed that the girls get killed one by one. The rest of the trailer is full of extensive gore. The film bases on a book by Clive Barker.

The film stars Us and Aquaman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and If Beale Street Could Talk’s Teyonah Parris. The role of the horrific and mystical Candyman himself had expected to get reprised by Tony Todd. Todd played the original Candyman in the 1992 version of the film. Which he is to date best known for. Todd, however, has not appeared in the film's first trailer.

The film is being directed by Nia DeCosta alongside Jordan Peele as the producer. When asked about the film's themes DeCosta replied saying, "The movie from the 90s has a vision of Cabrini-Green where it’s sort of on its way to get knocked down, so going back there and seeing what’s happened around that area … what we do in our film is talking about the ghosts that got left behind.”
