Directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj and starring Kamal Haasan, Vikram was a hit all over India. Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, Chemban Vinod, and Narain played the lead roles as well. Suriya was also seen in the guest role of Rolex in the film. When Lokesh was asked who would be Rolex if he was doing it in Malayalam, he replied that it would be Prithviraj. Now, Prithviraj says that if he is directing Vikram, who will he choose for the role of Rolex?
“I have not seen Lokesh Sir since Vikram's release. He was spotted at a restaurant in Hyderabad while shooting Bro Daddy. If I were to direct Vikram myself, I would not be in that cast. In that case, Rolex will be Dulquer;” said Prithviraj.
“We only hear about good Malayalam movies. Never heard of bad movies. We also hear about good Tamil movies. Bad movies are also happening in Tamil. The same goes for Telugu cinema. So do not think that all Malayalam movies are super. As a Malayalee, I have the right to say this.
But as an artist who has worked in many languages, I would say that Malayalam cinema has the most efficient process of filmmaking. It can also be said that it is due to a lack of budget. We do not have the same budget as Tamil and Telugu. We have not been able to shoot or release it for over two years. You will see a deadline. So we're done filming very soon.
I have heard many times that if you want to watch big action sequences, you have to watch Tamil and Telugu movies. I think it can be done in Malayalam too. We cannot do that, we do not have the luxury of it; we cannot say that there is no money for it. Now the revenue generation of Malayalam movies has also gone ahead.
I was starting to miss movies like Kaduva. When I heard the script of Kaduva, I thought it was a long time since I had done a film like this;” Prithviraj added.
