With the enormous success of his most recent film, Vikram, Kamal Haasan made a powerful comeback to the big screen. The illustrious performer will soon resume filming for Indian 2, his second project with master craftsman Shankar. The film, a sequel to the actor-director duo's 1996 smash Indian, will resume production today. Recently, Kamal Haasan made a public appearance wearing his new look for the movie Indian 2, in which he is reprising the role of the famous Senapathy.
Along with a few other veterans of the film industry, the legendary actor was seen on Monday in Chennai attending Y Gee Mahendra's most recent play, Charukesi. In the images that have been making the rounds online, Kamal Haasan can be seen sporting his trademark moustache, known as the "murukku meesai" in Tamil. It is clear from the new appearance that the iconic actor will dazzle audiences in Shankar's movie with yet another incredible makeover.
In regards to Indian 2, it was initially scheduled to begin production in 2020 but was repeatedly postponed for different reasons. A tragic incident that occurred on the Chennai set of Kamal Haasan's movie initially forced the production to stop. The pandemic waves later caused a further delay in the Shankar directed film. Later, it was even said to have been abandoned. However, Shankar and Kamal Haasan denied the rumours and said Indian 2 is still very much in the works.
Senapathy, played by Kamal Haasan, will experience a new chapter in the film, which is a sequel to Indian. In Shankar's film, which stars Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Guru Somasundaram and other A-list actors, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh play the female roles. Indian 2 features music by Anirudh and is produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies.
