An unfortunate accident that took place on the sets of Kamal Haasan starrer 'Indian 2' in Chennai took three lives and heavily injured 10 crew members.

 
The shooting of this high budget multilingual film under the direction of Shankar is taking place in EVP, Poonamalle. According to the latest update, a horrific accident took place on the sets and 3 people died on the spot. It seems like the accident took place during the construction of a set and when a huge crane crashed on the ground suddenly. People who were directly under the crane failed to escape on time and died on the spot whereas several others left with major injuries. Sources say that director Shankar also fractured a leg, but the team has trashed the rumors. However, Shankar’s personal assistant Madhu and assistant director Krishna died in the accident.
 
Lyca Productions tweeted, ""No words could ease what we truly feel. We are extremely saddened with the unfortunate accident that happened at the sets of Indian-2 yesterday (19th Feb 2020). We have lost 3 of our most hardworking technicians. Our deepest condolences to their family members. May their souls rest in peace," read the tweet."
 
'Indian 2' is the sequel of the blockbuster 90s film, 'Indian'. Kajal Aggarwal is the leading lady in the film with Rakul Preet and Siddharth in pivotal roles.
