Every year, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) pays tribute to a master filmmaker by screening the best of his films. This time, the organizers have decided to pay a tribute to British filmmaker Ken Loach and are screening few films under the section, Retrospective: Ken Loach. Six of his films will get screened in this category.
Two of Loach's films, The Wind That Shakes the Barly (2006) and I, Daniel Blake (2016) won the prestigious Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival. The 83-year-old actor is actively working in films since 1962. The films that are getting screened in this section, are Fatherland, Kes, Raining Stones, Riff Raff, Sorry We Missed You and Sweet Sixteen.
Sorry We Missed You is the latest film by Ken which he made this year. Just like his previous films, even Sorry We Missed You is a gut-wrenching drama with a lot of emotional elements. It will be a treat for his fans to watch his best works on the big screen.
This year, it will be the 50th edition of IFFI and thus, there are many other special sections included in the festival. The nine-day festival will start on this 20th and ends on the 28th.
