Irfan Khan’s The Song Of Scorpions Set For India Release

Late actor Irrfan Khan's last movie, The Song of Scorpions, is all set to release in India. The trailer of the movie has been shared by Irrfan's son, Babil Khan. He wrote, "Bringing alive a heart-wrenching tale of love, obsession, and betrayal." The movie is a folktale that takes place in the Thar desert of Rajasthan. Irrfan plays a camel dealer who is in love with Nooran, played by Golshifteh Farahani. Nooran is the only person who knows the song to treat those bitten by scorpions, and she travels far and wide on foot in the desert to save their lives.

The captivating trailer showcases the love story between Irrfan and Nooran, but their plans to get married are cut short by a tragedy. The movie also features Waheeda Rehman as Nooran's grandmother. Director Anup Singh revealed in an interview in 2017 that it was Irrfan who had suggested Golshifteh Farahani's name for the female lead. Singh had written the male lead character with Irrfan in mind, as he saw the actor as having the spirit of a musician. They had a deep understanding and respect for each other's creative inspiration, and he had hoped to make many more movies with Irrfan. The Song of Scorpions is set to release in theaters on April 28, a day before the third death anniversary of Irrfan Khan.
