Irrfan Khan's Death Caused Babil Khan To Shut Himself In His Room For 45 Days, Saying, It Was Devastating On A Level That I Can't Really Put Into Words

Babil Khan, a Bollywood actor who made his debut the previous year, had severe grief in 2020 with the passing of his father, Irrfan Khan. The actor shut himself in his room for 45 days following Irrfan's passing and has since continued to mourn his father with the utmost affection on social media. The actor's birthdate falls on this day.

During the Qala promotional campaign, Babil Khan said, “When it first happened, the first day, I didn't believe it. One week had passed and it hit then. And then I just went into a really bad spiral. I just locked myself in my room for one and a half months.” He said, “Back then he used to shoot so much that he'd be gone for a long shooting schedule. When it just happened, I had somehow convinced myself that he'll come back after the shooting schedule. And then I slowly started realizing that this is an indefinite shooting schedule. He's not coming back. I just lost my best friend. It was devastating on a level that I can't really put into words.” Following his fight with cancer, Irrfan Khan passed away in April 2020. The actor was lastly seen in Angrezi Medium. The late actor revealed his cancer diagnosis and the fact that he was receiving treatment in the UK in an emotional message in March 2018. His older son Babil Khan was attending the University of Westminster in London, England when he was receiving treatment. On the professional front, Babil Khan debuted in Triptii Dimri and Anvita Dutt's Qala. He will soon be seen in The Railway Men, a web series based on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. He's also working on a project with Shoojit Sircar and producer Ronnie Lahiri.
