Like every other sect of society, the Covid has its impact on mimicry artists as well. Many artists are in trouble as Covid's season programs have been canceled. The mimicry artists’ incomes have stagnated after the lockdown.
MAA, an organization of mimicry artists, also came up with new projects to help mimicry artists who are suffering during the Covid era.
The artists had organized an event called ‘MAA Maamangam’ in association with the Asianet channel. On the occasion, actor Suresh Gopi was also along with mimicry stars.
Suresh Gopi has been announced as one of the new patrons of the MAA organization. Now the actor has made another announcement.
The actor has announced that he will provide financial assistance to the MAA organization. Suresh Gopi said that from now on, he will give Rs 2 lakh to the organization from the remuneration he gets from each of the films he has acted in.
“Good times come in old age. It’s like that for me as well. There is a downside to saying that I can give so much from the cash I’m are earning. But I promise I will donate Rs 2 lakh from every film that I will make. Not as a donation but as a levy. This is for sure;” said Suresh Gopi.
