Lakshmi Gopalaswamy is well known to the audience as a dancer and actress. Lakshmi has acted with most of the Malayalam actors.

 
Lakshmi Gopalaswamy shares her experience of taking days to learn the name of her first film as she did not know Malayalam well. Lakshmi's first film is Arayannangalude Veedu directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. Mammootty played the lead role in the film.
 
“It took ten days to learn the name of the film. It was a whole new world for me, doing only modeling and dancing. The first day I went like going to a picnic. Eighty offers have been turned down out of fear. But I did not give up when this film’s offer came. I think that is fate;” says Lakshmi.
 
Lakshmi Gopalaswamy acted with Mammootty 20 years ago in the Arayannangalude Veedu. Lakshmi is currently starring in Dulquer Salman starrer Salute.
 
The actress shared a photo with Dulquer Salman during the shooting of Salute on social media. In an interview, Lakshmi said that Dulquer was a very cool young man and the shooting times of the salute were beautiful.
 
Lakshmi, who co-starred in Arayannangalude Veedu, won the Kerala State Film Award for her role. For her portrayal in the Kannada film Vidya, she received the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress.
