It's official: Suresh Babu confirms Addala for Asuran remake

Since the last few days, there is a lot of discussion of the Telugu remake of Tamil hit Asuran. Directed by Vetrimaaran, Asuran had Dhanush in the lead role. Popular producer Suresh Babu bought the remake rights of the film and Daggubati Venkatesh will play the lead role in it. There were many speculations about the film's director. Names of Hanu Raghavapudi, Tharun Bhascker, Sagar Chandra, Ohmkar and Srikanth Addala came up but Suresh Babu was tight-lipped about it till now. Finally, he revealed the director of the film the other day.

Speaking in an interview of Filter Kaapi, Suresh Babu said that Srikanth, who earlier worked with Venky for Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, will helm this project. Suresh Babu also said that they are making quite a few changes in the script to suit the sensibilities of the Telugu audience. When asked whether the changes will dilute the film's crux, the producer denied it and opined that the audiences will come out with the same impact that Asuran gave.

When questioned whether the film suits the image of Venkatesh which is of a family-film hero, the ace producer said that he saw Asuran as a family-oriented film rather than a film on casteism. Suresh Babu is quite confident that Asuran will do well in Telugu as well. He will announce more details on the film very soon.
