With more than 220 films under his belt in 13 different languages, Bollywood star Jackie Shroff has become a seasoned performer. Shroff is well-recognized for his vibrant and easygoing attitude. Jackie's path in Bollywood is nothing less than a rags-to-riches tale given his non-filmmaking upbringing. During numerous media engagements, he has addressed his personal struggles. In a recent interview, the actor revealed how he ended himself in the entertainment sector, after experimenting with several career paths.
When questioned about what motivated him to pursue acting after working as a chef, flight attendant, and a few other jobs. “I didn't ask for anything. He (God) just gave it, and I took it”, the actor said honestly. Then he remembered being a supervisor at a clothing business, where he used to inspect garment quality. He then opened a travel agency.
Jackie recalled his father having once predicted that he would succeed in the media. So, in order to be around people, he considered becoming a chef or a flight attendant. His father asked him to begin "working" after he spent two years trying his hand in several industries. He added, “Rastey par se kisi ne utha liya aur ban gaya (someone picked me up from the streets and I became an actor)".
The actor concluded his response by saying, “Maanga nahi. Aaya woh liya, uski izzat ki. Jo nahi tha uskey barey mai socha nahi (I didn’t ask for anything. Whatever came to me, I did with respect. I never thought of something that I didn’t have
