There has been a lot of controversies surrounding the remake of Mr. India. As soon as Ali Abbas Zaffar announced the remake of the film, all those who are in association with the original one seemed to not like the idea. The Anil Kapoor and Sridevi's iconic film was a super hit of that time. This is why the present directors want to catch the opportunity of making the film again. However, Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam Kapoor slammed the Ali Abbas Zafar for not consulting his family before announcing the film.
Sonam penned down a long message stating that the film associates with it a lot of emotions. Sonam's uncle and the director of the film Shekhar Kapur also criticized the remake. He said that it was his idea and story and he would appreciate if anyone remaking it consult him first. However, we smell fresh new controversy again as now, Javed Akhtar decided to open about the film.
On Friday, Javed took to his social media to slam Shekhar Kapur for calling Mr. India his idea. Javed wrote, "Shekhar saheb the story the situations the scenes the characters the dialogue the lyrics even the title none of these was yours. I gave it all to you. Yes, you execute it very well but how can your claim on the film be more than mine. It wasn’t your idea. It wasn’t your dream." It'll be interesting to see Shekhar's response to Javed's claims.
