Jayam Ravi Is Super Excited About Ponniyin Selvan.
Jayam Ravi stated that it is impossible for ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ to fail because the script, screenplay, and planning has been worked on for years under Mani Ratnam.
Jayam Ravi turned 40 on September 10. He will portray Raja Raja Chozhan Arunmozhi Varman, the Chola dynasty's king, in Mani Ratnam's historical epic drama 'Ponniyin Selvan.' Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan unveiled the film's trailer on September 6 in big style.
Jayam Ravi allegedly told to the media at the trailer release that 'Ponniyin Selvan' is a massive production and that with the film releasing shortly, the enthusiasm for the film is at its pinnacle. He went on to say that all of the characters in the film were adapted from Kalki's novel, and that every actor and actress in the film did their best to perform their parts.
Jayam Ravi allegedly said in an interview with a media outlet that during a scenario filming with an elephant, he had to think of a line to speak to the elephant on the spot, and it didn't matter because the audio for it would not be recorded. He said that director Mani Ratnam urged him to whisper in the elephant's ear that the film's production will be completed shortly. The actor recounted his filming experiences and allegedly stated that the role he plays in the film is particularly meaningful to him because his father loved the book.
The actor also allegedly remarked that 'Ponniyin Selvan' cannot fail since the storyline, screenplay, and planning have been worked on for years, and that anybody who knows the film well, such as Mani Ratnam or the other staff and cast who worked on it, can affirm that the effort put in is not in vain.
Jayam Ravi also stated during the trailer event that he had no idea why filmmaker Mani Ratnam picked him to portray the character. He stated that he accepted to perform the role in such an important film after much thought since he worked hard for his career and this role was deserving of it.
