One of the most anticipated biopics of this season is Thalaivi. Starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, this movie deals with the story of the late actress and ex-Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha. This film is being directed by AL Vijay. Already, the shooting is in midway and the makers are currently canning the younger days portions of Jayalalitha. Jisshu Sengupta is the latest addition to the cast.
We are all aware that actor Shobhan Babu played an important role in Jayalalitha's life. There were also rumors that they were in a relationship. Though it didn't come out officially, both of them shared a very close relationship. Thus, it is a mandatory thing to include Shobhan Babu's character in Thalaivi. The makers have looked at many options and finally locked Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta for the role.
Jisshu played his south Indian debut with NTR: Kathanayakudu. He played the role of LV Prasad in it. He also played the role of a psychopath villain in the recent film Ashwathama. Though the movie was a flop, Jisshu got a lot of accolades for his performance in it. Apparently, the producers of Thalaivi thought that Jisshu will be the perfect fit for Shobhan Babu. Jisshu started prepping up for the role by watching Shobhan Babu's films and trying to get his antics right. Thalaivi will hit the screens on June 26.
