In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Diljit discussed the movie Jogi and claimed that the topic is really close to his heart. He stated: "My birth year is 1984 as well. Growing up, I was exposed to tales and true accounts of the riots and the time period. In fact, I once produced a Punjabi movie called Punjab 1984 that also received a National Film Award. As a result, the topic is very significant to me, and Ali sir chose the perfect story." The movie was made during the COVID 19 pandemic, and Diljit said in the same chat that releasing it on OTT is the best choice because it will reach a large audience. Kumud Mishra, Amyra Dastur, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, and Hiten Tejwani are also featured in the movie. The movie, which was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, will be available on Netflix on September 16.
