Juhi Chawla, who was a big name in the 90s, made her Bollywood debut with the 1986 film Sultanat. She, however, got fame later on with her film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, after which it was no looking back for her. Apart from some of her successful films, Juhi regrets saying no to a lot of films which were massive at that time.
Films like Dil Toh Pagal Hai and Raja Hindustani were first offered to her, however, she refused to work in them because of her 'ego'. In an interview with journalist Rajeev Masand, Juhi opened up about her career in Bollywood.
She said, "I became pig-headed. I suddenly thought the industry would stop if I didn't work. I got some amazing chances to work in films, but my ego came in the way. I didn't do some films, which I could have done, which may have been harder work and more competitive. I just didn't do them because I wanted the easy stuff and I wanted to work with people I was comfortable with. I didn't break barriers."
After Juhi rejected the films, Karisma Kapoor played the leading roles in Dil Toh Pagal Hai and Raja Hindustan. Karisma's career graph went to some other level after these films and this is why Juhi feels that she's in a way responsible for Karisma's stardom. Currently, Karisma is back with her own web series called Mentalhood. The Alt Balaji show is about the struggle of mothers in raising their children. The show is receiving rave reviews by the audience so far.
