Director Virumandi made a socially conscious movie titled Ka Pae Ranasingam with Vijay Sethupathi and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles. The film which released on pay-per-view platform Zee Plex received positive response from the critics and audience alike. Now, Virumandi has signed his next film with actor Sasikumar. According to the filmmaker, the film is a period drama set in the 70s. Virumandi, in an interview, said that the film is based on the life of a person who is responsible for cinema continuing to rn in rual areas.
In an interview with Times of India, Virumandi said, "There have been many like the protagonist of this film who are the reason for why we celebrate cinema, but this one focuses on a person I've travelled with in my life. All I say for now is that this is not a film about cinema or a person from the film industry, but about an ordinary individual like you and me." The shooting of the film will happen in places like Madurai, Theni and Tenkasi. The technical crew of this film includes composer Ghibran, cinematographer NK Ekambaram, editor T Shivanandeeshwaran and lyricist Vairamuthu.
