Indian is one of the landmark films in the career of Kamal Haasan and the actor also won a lot of accolades for his role in the Tamil film. The movie got dubbed to Telugu and released as Bharateeyudu. Bharateeyudu also ended up becoming a big hit in the Telugu states.
Especially, his role as Senapathi gained a cult following among the audience. Now, after 24 years, he is making the sequel for the film called Indian 2. Bharateeyudu 2 is the title of the movie in Telugu. The shoot of Indian 2 is currently underway in Chennai.
Meanwhile, speaking about his role in the film, Kamal said in a recent interview, "In Indian, I looked like my dad while sporting the Senapathi look. In Indian2, I'm looking like my eldest brother Charu Hasan in the Senapthi look. I can feel the similarity." Charu Haasan is one of the popular actors of the Tamil film industry and has passed away recently.
Indian 2 is being directed by visionary filmmaker Shankar and bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, and Siddharth essays the other lead roles.
