Thevar Magan is one of the highly acclaimed films in the career of Kamal Haasan. It got directed by Bharathan and Kamal himself penned the story of it. The film got dubbed into Telugu as Kshatriya Puthrudu. Even the Telugu version became successful at the box office. Speaking in a recent interview, Kamal revealed that he finished the script of this film in just seven days.
Kamal Haasan recently participated in an online interview hosted by a popular Tamil anchor. AR Rahman also took part in this interview. During the conversation, Kamal shared this fact about Thevar Magan. He said, "One of my friends challenged me while I was writing Thevar Magan. He said that he will leave the project if I don't finish it early. That pressurized me. We know that it is like a child's play. But I took it seriously. Eventually, I finished writing the whole script in just seven days. But I can't do it for all the films. It happens, that's it. Some films may take months to get finished while some others may take years." "Sometimes, I cannot finish work in such a short time even if you give me a suitcase full of money," he added.
Thevar Magan featured Sivaji Ganesan, Revathi, and Gautami in the other lead roles. It got sent to Oscars as an official entry to the Best Foreign Film category, but it didn't get nominated. However, the film won five National Awards.
