Kamal Haasan and filmmaker Shankar initially collaborated on the 1996 social drama 'Indian,' a box office success. After two decades, the team reunited for the film's sequel, which began filming in 2017. However, the project was placed on hold after a few members were killed in an accident in early 2020. According to the most recent reports, Kamal Haasan and Shankar's 'Indian 2' filming will continue on August 22.

 
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has been in the United States preparing for 'Indian 2,' and will return to India shortly. As a result, production on 'Indian' 2' is expected to start on August 22, and the filmmakers are gearing up for the shoot.
 
A set is in place in Chennai's film city for the film shoot, and the team will be filming for the film there for the next two months. Kajal Aggarwal, who had confirmed her participation in the project, will begin filming in September mid. The latest additions to the film's cast are rumoured to be Sathyaraj and Karthik. However, the directors have yet to confirm their participation.
 
Director Shankar has paused production on his other film, 'RC 15,' featuring Ram Charan in the leading role, to continue production on 'Indian 2.'
