Kamal Haasan lauds Vijay Sethupathi for not running behind commercial market

Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi are two versatile actors of the Tamil film industry, belonging to different generations. Many of their fans were hoping for their union on the big screens but somehow, it didn't happen till now. But, the actors recently came together for a live video on the internet. They had an hour-long interaction, which has satisfied the fans to the core. Speaking in this chat, Kamal said that what he likes most in Vijay Sethupathi is that he doesn't run after the commercial market. He asked Vijay to be the same in the coming years as well.

Kamal Haasan started off the conversation with Sethupathi's popular line from the film Vikram Vedha- 'Naa Oru Kadha Sollata?(Shall I tell you a story?).' He then complimented Sethupathi for not running behind the commercial market. He added that success will follow eventually if we keep on experimenting with the choices.

Kamal said that he is in this stage because of K. Balachander and Malayalam cinema. Kamal recalled that he once had an interaction with his friend. At that time, Kamal was quite disappointed that no one is offering him interesting roles, apart from Balachander. At that time, that friend asked Kamal to try his hand in Malayalam cinema. Then, Kamal started doing experimental films in Malayalam. The Vishwaroopam actor said that the Malayalam industry is the only place where stars are also allowed to experiment with their choices.

Kamal also asked the younger generation stars to not follow their predecessors and create their own path. He told Vijay Sethupathi, "You should always aim for the next level without any doubts. I will clap and whistle for you." This conversation is now going viral on the internet.
