The audience praised Kamal Haasan's performance as a vigilante in Indian (1996), which he starred in and appeared in several avatars. The Ulaganayakan announced the revival of this movie series in 2019 and even began production on Indian 2. However, unforeseen difficulties like the pandemic caused numerous delays in the process. The Vikram actor began filming to finish the unfinished scenes for the Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh starrer now that production is back on track.

 
After the massive success of Vikram, Ulaganayakan, aka international star Kamal Haasan, has begun filming for Indian 2, according to a source close to the actor. He informs fans that he is resuming filming and has been observed on the sets of the film through a video. He also spoke with and was spotted conversing with director Shankar. "We still vividly recall the actor's legendary vigilante role from Indian, and we are eager to see what the incredible actor-director team will offer in the sequel. We are undoubtedly anticipating with bated breath," the insider said.
 
Speaking of Indian 2, it also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead parts. Their characters' details are currently a secret, though. The movie, which is made by Red Giant Films and Lyca Productions and includes music by Anirudh Ravichander, will be released globally in 2023.
 
For those who are unaware, Kamal Haasan played two roles in the vigilante action movie Indian, which was released in May 1996. Manisha Koirala, Sukanya, and Urmila Matondkar also had lead parts in the movie. The plot of the movie centered around an ex-military officer who despises corruption and seeks to eliminate everyone involved in it. Even more, it eventually won three National Awards.
